John Connie Lambert, Sr., a 43-year-old Osyka businessman and paving contractor, was shot and killed on the evening of Wednesday, February 14, 1990, while at a rural site where he kept his fox hunting dogs and heavy equipment for his contracting business. Authorities said the shooting occurred between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m that evening on Greycoat Road, about a mile west of Interstate 55 and a quarter mile north of Highway 584, near Osyka, Mississippi.

Lambert's wife last saw him at around 5:15 p.m. and she pulled up at the property at 5:30 p.m., pulling up to see her husband lying dead behind his truck. He had a shotgun blast to the right side of his chest. A shotgun, which had not been fired, was found inside of his truck.

Lambert left behind a wife and three children. He owned the paving contracting business and the Osyka Shoprite Food Store on Highway 51 in Osyka at the time of his murder.

There is only one news article on Mr. Lambert's death. His murder remains cold and unsolved.
